What is Spring Probe?
Spring Probe(Contact Probes) is used to test semiconductor or PCB used in many electric appliances or electronic devices. They can be considered as nameless hero who helps people's lifestyle everyday.

Spring Probe for Semiconductor
Spring Probe is installed in IC socket, which is fixed on PCB in IC tester.
It becomes electronic path and connects semiconductor and PCB.

  • Materials and plating for Spring Probe

    Plunger Material BeCu Most used material for spring probe for semiconductor.
    Material Pd Alloy Effective for anti-solder migration. No plating is needed.
    Plating Au Alloy Hardness is higher than Au(Gold) plating and effective for anti-solder migration.
    Plating Au(Gold) Good electric conductivity.
    Barrel Material Copper Brass, Phosphor Bronze, Nickel Silver, BeCu
    Material Alloy Barrel developed by KITA. Outer diameter is available from 0.11 to 0.42mm
    Plating Au(Gold) Good electric conductivity.
    Spring ― Spring Steel Wire (SWP)（Music Wire） Operating temperature: -45~125℃
    ― Stainless Steel Wire (SUS) Operating temperature: -45~140℃
    ― Stainless Steel Wire for high temperature Operating temperature: -45~200℃, developed by KITA.

  • Condition of Use

    Warranty
    ・12months (under following conditions)
    Stroke Condition
    ・Probe shall be stroked vertically same direction as barrel's axis.
    ・Stroke length should not exceed the recommended stroke.
    Environmental Conditions
    General Conditions
    ・Temprature 20～30℃, humidity below 30%
    ・No dust, no corrosive gas, no pollution
    ・Temprature of probe itself shall be 10～40℃
    Current and Voltage Condition
    ・Current and Voltage shall be impressed only in stationary position at recommended stroke.

Spring Probe for PCB
Spring Probe are used for continuity check of PCB itself.
Also used for component checking and functional test after fixing semiconductors or electronic parts on PCB.
For these purpose, It is common to use the spring probe with Receptacle.

    Receptacle is metal tube used by inserting spring probe inside and fixed in jig board.
    If you use Receptacle and Spring probe together, it is easier for you to replace spring probe after it ends its life than fixing Spring probe in jig board itself.
